Just let us know when you want to take some photos. We will happily accompany you around the paddocks to make sure that they are all on their best behaviour.
Whether you are a complete beginner, on your first nature photography walking holiday, or a seasoned pro, you never stop learning. Perhaps during your stay you will learn something new that will help you to take your best picture ever. And if you do, we hope you’ll share it with us.
HIKING Photography Hints & Tips

Our gîte is just a few kilometres from the river Lot and Puy L’Eveque. During your stay, not only can you sample the local cuisine and wines, but it is easy to explore the area on foot or by bike. This beautiful region offers the nature photographer a myriad of opportunities to capture beautiful, unique images of bright, colourful and unusual species. One of our favourites, the Eurasian Hoopoe. is a familiar sight around here and has a very recognisable song.

Under an hour’s drive from La Bergerie, on the edge of the Dordogne, is the Marais de Groléjac Nature Reserve. The reserve is not very well known to the general public. So it is a haven of peace for visitors and the wildlife.
There is a 2km trail on a wooden walkway around the marshland, where the only sounds you will hear are the birds and the frogs. And, if you are very lucky, you might even spot a coypu.
Le Rocher des Aigles (the Rock of Eagles) is an ornithological park located in Rocamadour, 90 minutes drive from here. It is home to more than 400 birds of prey, owls and parrots where they also hold daily falconry displays. The park is open every day including public holidays from 30 March to 29 September 2024. Artist’s Retreat
Painting is not only a creative outlet, but also a great reliever of stress. It is been known to provide a sense of calm and relaxation, allowing people to disconnect from the outside world and immerse themselves in the creative process. And when it comes to painting nature and wildlife, the end result can be as beautiful as it is therapeutic.
If you are looking for relaxation, recuperation and a chance to capture the natural beauty of your surroundings with a paintbrush, then you are most welcome.
